Last night I had just updated my subscribed podcasts for the first time in quite a while, so as you may expect I had a few updates that I needed to listen to. So after syncing and crawling into bed, I set up my iPod and got Buzz Out Loud going. When I went to check if I still had it set to repeat I found something completely different that I had never heard of Apple doing. Three new buttons for while you’re listening to podcasts. These are (from left to right) email link, go back 30 seconds and increase speed.
I was quite surprised when I went to turn off shuffle and Tom Merritt and Molly Wood starting talking at double their usual speed! But it makes me wonder just what other little updates Apple has added into their new iPhone update…

The Rumors Were Right!
Well, looks like the rumors were right. The new iPod Touch has now been unveiled. Basically looks and works exactly like the iPhone. But more space in the more expensive version (8GB for the cheaper one and 16GB for the more expensive one). I personally HAVE TO HAVE THIS! But that’s just me. But another cool feature for it is the new Wi-Fi music store. So now you can download music from your iPod. I think this is what many people wanted in the first place. A way to download music from the music store without having to use a computer. Great job Apple (and yes, as you may have figured out, I’m an Apple fan boy (most of the time
)). There’s also another cool wi-fi feature. Apple is continuing to work with Starbucks. So say your in Starbucks, and you hear a song you like. Go to the wi-fi music store and then it will tell you what has been and is playing at Starbucks. So now you don’t need to find the name! They have also changed the look of all the other ipods. You should be able to see here! The 16GB version will be going for $399.00US and the 8GB for $299.00US. Pretty good deal I think. But only because it is around the same amount for an old iPod video. I think it replaces the lack of capacity with features.
My iTunes Widgets
Apple has come out with a new iTunes Store feature. This is pretty cool. They can show the songs you have recently bought, your favorite artists and your favorite movies; and it’s all based on your iTunes purchases, so if you use LimeWire, then it probably won’t work.
Companies Love to Hate YouTube
A bunch of music publishers have decided to join the lawsuit against YouTube for copyright infringement. The National Music Publishers Association said that it was mostly concerned about artists not getting proper repayment for their music when it is uploaded to YouTube.Television channels such as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and MTV are also joining for the same reason.
Eminem Is Suing Apple
Once again, Eminem is suing Apple. The first incident was over the use of the term “Lose Youself” which Apple used as a slogan for an iTunes ad. This time, Eminem is claiming that Apple is selling his music through the iTunes Store without his permission. Apple claims that they had permission from Eminem’s publisher, Universal.Looks like we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
